I first got into biking for transportation in the summer of 2004 after my freshman year of college.  Neil started biking in the summer of 2008 and went from driving almost everywhere to never using the car in a matter of months.

We sold our car in the fall of 2009 and haven't looked back. It saves us money, keeps us fit, and reduces our carbon footprint--a win all-around.

When we had HP, family and friends often assumed we would have to get a car. Turns out, having a child does not necessitate a vehicle. I wrote about my experience living car-free during HP's first year over at Feeding the Soil.

Our daughter started riding around ten months and we are now enjoying cycling adventures as a family of four (like bike camping!).

Our fleet is ever-changing as the kids grow, but this post details what we are currently riding.

You can find all of my posts about car-free living here.

If you have any questions about how we make it work, please let me know!
